Creator Monetization Program Terms
Last updated: August 2026
These Creator Monetization Program Terms ("Creator Terms") govern your participation in the JoySchooler creator monetization program (the "Program") operated by JoySchooler Inc. ("JoySchooler", "we", "us", or "our"). By enrolling in the Program, checking the acceptance box in your creator dashboard, or publishing a course that is offered for sale or through paid plans, you ("Creator", "you", or "your") agree to these Creator Terms, in addition to the JoySchooler Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If these Creator Terms conflict with the Terms of Service on a Program-specific topic, these Creator Terms control.
The idea is simple: you create great courses, learners around the world benefit from them, and when your courses are sold we share the revenue with you.
Not every published course is part of the Program. Courses appear in the product as "lesson series", and series published to the community library are shared free of charge — that sharing is governed by the JoySchooler Terms of Service, not by these Creator Terms, and accrues no earnings unless the course is later offered for sale or paid access with your enrollment. Series published from learner accounts connected to a parent are attributed "JoySchooler Learner", are always free, and are never part of the Program.
1. Eligibility and Enrollment
To receive payments under the Program you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), hold a JoySchooler account in good standing, accept these Creator Terms in your creator dashboard, and provide accurate payout and tax information (see Section 7). We may approve, decline, suspend, or remove any creator from the Program at our discretion. Publishing courses does not by itself obligate us to pay you if you have not completed enrollment.
2. Independent Relationship
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer of JoySchooler. You may not make commitments or representations on our behalf. You are responsible for your own taxes, social contributions, and business registrations.
3. Your Content and the License You Grant Us
You keep ownership of the courses, lessons, text, images, video, audio, exercises, and other materials you create and submit ("Creator Content"). To operate the Program, you grant JoySchooler a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, translate, reformat, excerpt, display, distribute, market, and sell your Creator Content through the JoySchooler platform, apps, and marketing channels, including making it available to individual purchasers and to subscribers of JoySchooler plans, and including limited excerpts for previews and promotion. This license lasts while your Creator Content is published on JoySchooler and for a reasonable wind-down period after removal, and survives for copies already sold or delivered to customers (purchasers keep access to what they bought).
Our AI mentor may present, discuss, and adapt your Creator Content in the course of tutoring learners who have access to it; this is part of the licensed use above.
4. Intellectual Property Warranty
You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have all rights, licenses, consents, and permissions needed to submit your Creator Content and to grant the license in Section 3; (b) your Creator Content, and our use of it as licensed, does not and will not infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third party's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or other rights, and does not violate any law; (c) your Creator Content does not include material you copied from other courses, textbooks, or websites without the right to do so, and any third-party material it includes is properly licensed for commercial use by us; and (d) any person appearing in your Creator Content has given any required consent. You will indemnify and hold JoySchooler harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from a breach of these warranties. We comply with the DMCA and will remove content in response to valid infringement notices; repeat infringers will be removed from the Program.
5. Pricing — JoySchooler Controls Pricing
JoySchooler sets, controls, and may change at any time all customer-facing prices for courses and subscriptions, including local currency prices, rounding, discounts, promotions, coupons, bundles, free-trial and refund policies, and whether a course is included in subscription plans. You do not set the sale price of your courses. Your revenue share is calculated on what customers actually pay, as described in Section 6, regardless of list price changes or promotions we run.
6. Revenue Share and Earnings
Individual course sales. When a customer buys one of your published courses as an individual purchase, you earn a revenue share equal to the percentage shown in your creator dashboard (currently 50%) of the Net Revenue of that sale. "Net Revenue" means the amount the customer actually paid for your course after discounts, coupons, and credits, and excluding sales tax, VAT, GST and similar taxes collected. In formula form:
earning = net_revenue × revenue_share_percentage
Subscription access. Courses may also be accessed by JoySchooler subscribers (and school-plan learners) without an individual purchase. When a subscriber completes a lesson in one of your paid published courses, you earn the fixed per-lesson amount shown in your creator dashboard (currently USD $0.10). Each learner generates this earning at most once per lesson, regardless of how many times they revisit it, and completions are measured by our systems. Per-lesson earnings do not apply to lessons in courses the learner (or their family account) purchased individually — those sales already earned you the revenue share above — nor to your own or your household's completions, free courses, or activity we reasonably determine to be artificial, automated, or intended to inflate earnings. We may change the per-lesson amount, or replace this mechanism with an engagement-based pool allocation, prospectively at any time (see Section 10).
No earnings accrue for: your own purchases of your own courses; free or zero-priced courses; refunded, charged-back, disputed, or fraudulent transactions; purchases made to manipulate the Program; or sales occurring while your account is demonetized under Section 8. Earnings are recorded in the currency of the sale. Our records are the source of truth for sales, engagement, and earnings calculations; we may correct errors at any time, and you agree to return or let us offset amounts paid in error.
7. Payouts, Holding Period, and Stripe Onboarding
An earning becomes available for payout only after the holding period shown in your dashboard (currently 30 days) has passed without a refund or chargeback; until then it is shown as estimated. Payouts run automatically on a monthly schedule once your available balance reaches the minimum shown in your dashboard (currently USD $50); balances below the minimum roll over to the next run. Payouts are currently made in USD; earnings in other currencies become payable when we support them, or we may convert them at a reasonable exchange rate.
Payouts are sent through Stripe Connect. Before your first payout you must complete Stripe's hosted onboarding, where Stripe collects the identity, bank, and tax information needed to pay you — JoySchooler does not collect or store your bank details. Tax forms (such as Form 1099 where US reporting thresholds are met) are prepared and delivered through Stripe. Your use of Stripe is also subject to Stripe's connected account agreement and privacy policy. We may pause, withhold, or delay payouts while required information is incomplete or where required by law. If a refund or chargeback occurs after an earning was paid out, we may deduct the amount from your future earnings or invoice you for it.
8. Content Standards, Moderation, and Demonetization
Creator Content must be appropriate for an educational platform used by children. We may review, decline to publish, unpublish, or remove any Creator Content at any time. We may demonetize your account — meaning new sales stop accruing earnings and payouts are paused — or remove you from the Program, if we reasonably believe that: your content infringes third-party rights or is the subject of a credible complaint; your content is harmful, inaccurate in ways that endanger learners, deceptive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise violates our Use Policy; you manipulated sales, engagement metrics, reviews, or referrals; you engaged in self-dealing or fraudulent transactions; or you materially breached these Creator Terms. Where practical we will tell you the reason and give you an opportunity to fix the issue, and demonetization is reversible when the issue is resolved. Earnings attributable to violations may be forfeited.
9. Privacy and Learner Data
Protecting learners — most of whom are children — comes first. As a creator you will only ever see aggregate, de-identified information about your courses: sale counts, your earnings ledger, and (if introduced) aggregate engagement statistics. You will not receive names, email addresses, learner conversations, student work, or any other personal data of purchasers or learners. You may not attempt to identify, contact, or solicit purchasers or learners, or ask learners to share personal information through your course content. Any data you do receive through the Program may be used only to understand your own course performance and must not be sold or shared.
10. Changes, Termination, and General Terms
We may update these Creator Terms, the revenue-share percentage, pool formula, payout minimums, holding periods, and payout methods from time to time. Material changes will be announced in your dashboard or by email and apply to sales occurring after the change takes effect — never retroactively to earnings you already accrued. You may leave the Program at any time by unpublishing your courses and contacting us; we will pay out any remaining balance above the minimum in the normal payout cycle. Sections 3 (for delivered copies), 4, 7 (for accrued amounts), 9, and 10 survive termination. These Creator Terms are otherwise governed by the same law, dispute-resolution, and liability provisions as the JoySchooler Terms of Service.
