You Can't Install an Interest

6yo played chess non-stop for a year. Now whenever we suggest that as an option, we get a no. Now, he's playing ping pong whenever he can find someone willing to play.

One thing I've learned homeschooling: I cannot make my kids want something. I can expose, encourage, and get out of the way. But they're the driver. All I can do, once they're deep down a road, is help them go far, and help them see other roads along the way.
