Telling students what they'll learn before they care to know is a spoiler. Great lessons expose a gap in the learner's mind and resist closing it too quickly. They let the learner wrestle with uncertainty before resolving it. Forgettable lessons give the answer upfront: "Today we will learn about X." The problem isn't naming X. It's naming it before there's anything to wonder about.
